GuildMestar Developer Insights - August 1, 2023
Hello GuildMestars,
Just a small update for you all this fair Developer Insights. We are a scant few tasks away from full on bug testing then the update is here. It would have been lovely to say there was only bug testing left however some drastic measure had to be taken due to the number of new sprites added.
The game's engine, Unity, seems to have problems rendering and resizing sprite sheets of large pixel count. As more and more new assets were created sprites became misaligned and even suffered from color deformation unless the images compression was reduced. Due to this I have spent the last couple days converting the previous master sheets into individual sheets per subject. As an unfortunate result this broke every animation that was referencing the old sprites and now those need to be redone. I expect this to take another day or two but once this is complete the remaining work should be able to be completed in a timely manor.
Starting the 15th of August I hope to return to bi-monthly Insights as we get closer to patch 0.2.0.0. Look forward to some updated new then!
