GuildMestar Developer Insights - June 1, 2023


Hello GuildMestars,

This Dev Log we have some news on one of the major new additions coming in v0.2.0.0 and a progress update regarding the expected timeline and release! Let's get into it!

In addition to a heap of new story content, areas, enemies, bosses, playable adventurer races and professions, a new type of trade interaction is being added for those who enjoy the mercantile aspect of running a guildhall. All of the new and existing towns now consume and produce a number of resources, the number of which changes depending on the town's needs and physical location. These towns buy and sell goods to their neighbors who may not be so fortunate to live next to abundant forests or deep mines, and towns that overproduce may just have some extra to sell on the side.

A prospective GuildMestar should be on the look out, for adventurers visiting these overproductive markets will be able to purchase their wares. While there adventurers would be wise to sell any excess goods they may have acquired from prior trades as the town may be in a deficit and willing to pay extra. A world of coin is available to those willing to watch the market, and strike when it's most beneficial!


Now, onto the the current update's progress. At this moment roughly 75 - 80% of the new story is written and playable in the game. The remaining work will be put towards another system overhaul and the new characters that still need their animations fleshed out. Once that is complete then testing and bug fix passes can truly start. Because of this I still estimate another 1 - 2 months before the update is complete. In the future the game will return to its every other month update schedule but due to the nature of most of the new content taking place outside the Senstand region it all had to be done at once. Here's looking forward to a productive future!
